The E-Landing
The time it takes to reach the ground when failing is a function of the height from which the rider falls. The additional forces at play in a high-speed fall, such as horizontal speed and angular momentum, are far greater than the forces in a low-speed fall. Training in fall safety techniques is even more important in high-speed falls due to the increased forces that riders are subjected to in these situations.
Fall safety training will assist the rider in making a quick decision to respond and reduce blunt force impact to the head and spine. Tuck-and-roll techniques will further mitigate the risk of injury in a fall when landing speed.
